Surfing the Gnar Gnar

Less things, pack light, learn more, live simple.
Landed in the Outerbanks, NC this weekend.  Been wanting to get my surf on for some time now.  With some research, I decided to go with the Farmdog School (2500 S Virginia Dare Trail, Nags Head) to take my surf lessons.  Conveniently located by the shore, I met up with Robert (instructor) Saturday to take on the ocean. Very warm and inviting atmosphere. I very much enjoy being taught by those who love to teach and Robert very much wanted me to succeed! I don't know who was more excited when I caught a wave, Robert or myself!

Next day, Derek, another instructor boarded along side me.  He taught me to wax my board, see waves coming in, sit on the board to turn to catch the wave, and to learn how to catch more waves. Definitely took a couple of nose dives but was able to catch two waves and go down the line. I must say though...surfing tires you but I loved it!!

Thanks for the bagel and coffee Farmdog!

Self-Improvement

“The most important thing you can do to achieve your goals is to make sure that as soon as you set them, you immediately begin to create momentum. The most important rules that I ever adopted to help me in achieving my goals were those I learned from a very successful man who taught me to first write down the goal, and then to never leave the site of setting a goal without first taking some form of positive action toward its attainment.” Tony Robbins.
