Rules of the Challenge

I'm still in the beginning stages of this challenge, so below is a tentative list of rules that I plan to set for my personal items list.

Rule: Duplicates
Things that are duplicated by design and will be counted collectively as 1 thing.  Examples:

  1. tampons
  2. checkbooks
  3. q-tips
  4. hair ties

Rule: Hygiene
I am fully aware of the hikers guide of packing by weight.  This is not that type of challenge, nor do I want it to be that type of challenge.  These items are meant to be purchased in numbers for the sake of convenience and in my personal opinion, hygiene.  Thus, these items will collectively be counted as 1.  Examples:

  1. underwear
  2. socks

Rule: Boxed
Items that are too small to be without a box and items that are meant to be stored in a box will be considered 1 thing.  Thus, these items collectively will be counted as 1.  Examples:

  1. jewelry
  2. memorabilia
  3. travel kit
  4. make-up

Rule: Sets
Items that come in sets.  These items will be counted as 1.  Examples:

  1. luggage
  2. dishes
  3. silverware
  4. pan/pot set
  5. car/registration/insurance/spare tire

Open-Mindedness

"i would rather have a mind opened by wonder than closed by belief." Gerry Spence. Thinking openly and embracing new ideas. Letting go of control, experiencing changes, making yourself vulnerable, making mistakes, strengthening yourself, gaining confidence, and being honest. For some, being open-minded is easy and for others, a challenge; the effort is well worth the benefits. Positively Present...

Self-Improvement

“The most important thing you can do to achieve your goals is to make sure that as soon as you set them, you immediately begin to create momentum. The most important rules that I ever adopted to help me in achieving my goals were those I learned from a very successful man who taught me to first write down the goal, and then to never leave the site of setting a goal without first taking some form of positive action toward its attainment.” Tony Robbins.
